People Don’t Believe We Make 85 Dials an Hour! -Part 1

23 November 2009 —

I just got back from the Dreamforce ’09 event in San Francisco.  It is the premier trade show each year in the on-demand CRM space and is put on by salesforce.com

We had been told they were expecting 12,000 attendees but I knew the number would go way up when they offered free tickets to the Expo and the Keynotes with about 2-3 weeks to go. The numbers were up past 19,000 at last count. Colin Powell spoke, as well as Mark Beniof who announced a cool new social media tool call Chatter.

I personally gathered 125 inquiries at the show and went through one extra pair of sole supports in my shoes, but what a blast!

I spoke with over 65 inside sales managers who use Salesforce CRM and told them what we do and learned what they do. They all spoke about selling remotely, needing more leads, and loving Salesforce.

I asked how many calls a day their Lead-Gen teams made.  The numbers ranged from 35 to just over 100, with most in the 50-70 range.

I told them that our Lead-Gen reps make 85 dials an hour and 300 a day, every day with our phone dialer software. Now of course we have to drink our own Kool-Aid and use our own technologies in-house. Several didn’t believe me. Some expressed concerns that we are running a sweat shop.

So I’ve decided I’m going to interview our reps on video in Part 2 and let them tell you. Stay Tuned.

Here is the video
