Why You Should Bet Your Career on XANT

XANT CareersPreviously, I have written about the merits of betting your career on a hyper-growth company. For a smart, ambitious, curious, energetic go-getter, this is the only interesting career foundation in today’s economy.

That’s why Utah is becoming such a talent magnet with its impressive assortment of hyper-growth companies. By the way, I’m not alone in my fascination with the current Utah phenomenon. Here’s more on that topic from The New Yorker, Forbes, Inc. and USA Today.

But why should you choose XANT specifically?

Your career is not your job — two very different things. If you’re trying to optimize your “job,” you might pay attention to things like salary or title. These things matter very little in the long run of a career.

If you are thinking about your career, however, you will look for things that set you up long term:

  • Network
  • Brand
  • Optionality

1.    Network

You would be hard-pressed to find a better tribe than the one at XANT.

CEO Dave Elkington has assembled a star-studded leadership lineup, including high-ranking executives from the world’s leading companies, like Salesforce, Citrix, eBay Enterprise, Microsoft, IBM, VMware, Infor and more.

If you worked at InsideSales today, these are people you would know personally, and they would know you. You would be working with them and others to build 100% growth year over year. They’ve done it before; they’ll do it again. If you are lucky enough to be selected, you could join this tribe.

2.    Brand

Make no mistake, brand is important. But don’t pick a brand from the ‘50s, ‘60s, or ‘70s just because your parents have heard of it.

Be smart enough to pick Google in 2000 or Salesforce in 2001.

XANT is on that kind of trajectory. Major industry players, like Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Polaris Partners, Salesforce and Microsoft, have invested more than $200 million to fuel the company’s growth.

InsideSales is on all the lists of companies whose destiny is all but a fait accompli. Your parents may not have heard of it yet, but InsideSales is poised to become a front-page brand.

3.    Optionality

This one is harder to define, but optionality is basically your ability to launch a successful career.

Sometimes a “job” mentality leads to a high-paying job in a dying industry.

No. Don’t do that. You get no springboard.

High optionality means you are developing a skill that is useful elsewhere, you are working with people you will work with in future companies, you are committing to a geography or an industry that has a future, you will tuck away enough money to have some degrees of freedom in your next move, etc.

Choose a job that is Step One of a Career, and understand the optionality you are creating for yourself.

InsideSales offers lots of opportunities to create optionality:

  • We are in the beginning stages of a multibillion-dollar category called sales acceleration.
  • We are the category leader.
  • You will work with sales leaders across multiple industries (our customers).
  • You will work alongside the best in the business.
  • You will establish connections with our blue-chip partner portfolio (Accenture, Deloitte, Salesforce, Microsoft, etc.)
  • You may gain international business experience, as we already have an office in London and have plans to expand our overseas presence in the future.

By betting your career on XANT, you will open countless doors for yourself.

I have personally bet my career on XANT. I have recruited 15 of my personal friends to work here. They have recruited 30 more.

Some of these people have come together into the Momentum Strategy Team, which is the best strategy team I have ever worked with.

Having already been a part of several successes, my criteria for joining InsideSales were a bit different.

My criteria were:

  • Market Size: all companies that sell things to customers
  • Value Proposition: more sales
  • Intellectual Property: largest sales database on the planet (90+ billion sales interactions and counting), with defensible predictive analytics IP
  • Dave Elkington: most talented CEO I have worked with

I believe XANT has a shot at becoming one of the most significant enterprise software companies in history. How many companies can say that?

Most are hindered by a limited market, a limited value proposition, or some other fundamental factor.

I understand that becoming one of the most significant enterprise software companies in history means putting us in the same category as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce and other high-tech titans.

But I throw myself into work every day believing we have a shot. And so far, we’ve done pretty well: 100%+ year-over-year growth, a clear path to profitability, and industry buzz like I’ve never experienced.

Take a look at the list of available positions on the XANT Careers page to see if this is the company on which you would want to bet your career.
